Five questions to ask before your first group tour

A good group tour feels like travelling with friends who happen to know the way. A bad one feels like a school trip. The difference is usually visible before you book, if you ask the right questions.
How many people are in the group?
Anything over sixteen changes the trip. Restaurants need to be booked for the whole group, guides need microphones, and everyone waits for the slowest coffee order. Our tours cap groups between ten and fourteen.
How much of the time is free?
Look for at least one unplanned day per week. Having time to wander on your own is what makes a place feel like yours.
Who do I call at night?
Find out exactly who answers when something goes wrong at three in the morning, and how. At Meander it is a planner in the app, day or night.
What does the price include?
Compare like with like. Check whether flights, internal transport, entry fees, dinners and tips are included, and whether there is a single supplement if you travel alone.
Who chose the hotels?
Ask whether anyone from the company has stayed in them. If the answer is a booking engine, expect surprises.
If you have more questions, send them to a planner. That is what we are here for.
